Several years ago the San Juan del Rio Coco R.L. Cooperative implemented a production plan for organic certified coffees. It turned out to be a success and their organic coffees have since then shown impressive sales - which is a rarity in the established coffee market. 

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that San Juan R.C. R. L. UCA, since 1993, is one of the first organizations to dedicate themselves to growing and promoting organic coffees.
